Reviewing The Use Of Electric Towel Rails For Bathrooms
|
If you are one of those who enjoy the newest in gadgets, or one who dreads getting out the shower all nice and warm, just to get that cold chill when the air hits, might appreciate a new addition to bathroom accessories. The Europeans have been enjoying warm towels in their homes, hotels, and spas for years. The towel warmers fall under different names such as towel warmers and towel rails. Other towel warmers are towel radiators which can be used a variety of ways including being hardwired into the central heating system, electrical system, or simply plugged in. Electric towel rails are easy to use. You simply plug them in and flip a switch. They run off of a 120 Volt current. The wattages are different. The wattage of these unit range from 150-900 watts. Prices vary from $100 to over $ 4000. Another great place to have warm towels would be the kitchen after mixing cold food mixtures such as meatloaf, or constantly having our hand in the ice chest arranging drinks and adding ice for our guests at a cookout. One of the smallest electric towel racks is a stainless steel spiral rack which was found at Home Depot for $125. Stainless steel is the most popular materials used for these towel warmers. This one is compact with measurements of 20" H x 8" deep X 11 " wide, and will hold up to 5 towels. There is a 5 year warranty on the heating element. According to the reviews, there was a difference in opinion as to the heating of the towels when using the spiral towel rack. One customer wired it into a heating lamp, and complained that it took 2-21/2 hours before the towels became warm. Another customer does not state if they wired it in or just plugged the unit into an outlet, but loved the quickness of how fast the towels were heated. Overall, ratings were 4-5 stars.
Other electric towel rails for bathrooms range from stand alone, ladder, shelved and non-shelved styles. They also come in chrome, stainless steel, nickel, bronze, brass, gold and white. Many have multiple rails to place towels, while others have flat panels. Curious as to what other customers have to say about this product, I checked several free standing units. Again, overall customers are very pleased. Some also rave about being able to dry damp towels and bathing suits after use, without having a lingering odor found when they are air dryed. The main complaint has been the increased utility costs. One of the popular remedies many used was adding a timer to their electric towel rail.
