Types Of Bath Rugs
|
Rugs are often a popular bathroom accessory to add a decorative touch, as well as for foot warmth, and to protect the floor from dripping water when we get out of the tub or shower. There are various sizes which range from small to extra large bath rugs. The home decorator can choose between round, oval, square, rectangular, and other odd shapes of bath rugs according to the size of bathroom and their intended purpose. The most commonly used is cotton, chenille, as well as those becoming more popular such as teak and bamboo bath rugs and mats. Keim rugs are a less expensive choice among the imported rugs which, typically, are not bath rugs but are inexpensive substitutes. Large bath rugs can serve the same purpose as the smaller ones depending on the size of bathroom and shape that is chosen. When choosing large bath rugs, you may want to read the care instructions label from the manufacturer. In most cases, washable rugs should not be washed with linens and clothing due to possible fading and lint being left on the clothing. Not all rugs can be washed in the same water temperature or dried in a dryer regardless of the temperature. Those with rubber backings should be allowed to dry naturally to prevent damage to the backing that often results in dry rotting. Large bath rugs are being used as decorative pieces alone, such as in the middle of the bath or powder room. One of the popular styles is the wool, handcrafted, tapestry rugs. They add a unique look to the decor. Traditional rugs are used in areas where there is going to be wet feet.
Bamboo is another style which is great for the Eco conscious family and looks great with smaller bamboo and wicker accessories. Bamboo bath rugs can be used indoors as well as outdoors depending on the size and shape. They are quick to absorb water and dry faster than most. Another type is those made of bamboo rayon which is bamboo processed into fabric. Bamboo rayon is often used in bamboo mats which are often used inside the tub to prevent water from pooling and decrease the risk of slip and fall accidents. The bamboo rayon is also much softer to stand on than the regular bamboo bath rug.
